Census Time!

The first U.S. census was taken in 1790 by the U.S. Marshalls on horseback.  At that time, there were 3.9 million people living here.  In 2000, the population had risen to 280 million.  What will the number be this year?  The census form is coming to your house in the mail this month, please take some time to fill it out.

Census data is taken every ten years as required by the Constitution to equally redistribute the seats in the House of Representatives among the states based on population.
