First Nationwide Emergency Alert System Test

11 a.m PST

The first nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System will be held for up to three and a half minutes on Wednesday, November 9th at 11 a.m. PST.  All regularly scheduled television, radio, cable and satellite shows will be interrupted as the system is being tested.  For more information please view the press release below from Benicia's Fire Marshal, Ray Iverson, Benicia Fire Department.

Ben Franklin's Proverbs to Poems

Our local poets have contributed to the Benjamin Franklin exhibit by writing original poems based on one of Franklin's many proverbs.

You will find them on the endcaps of the Fiction and Nonfiction shelves (near the exhibit).  Please vote for your favorite one and place your ballot in the box found in the center of the exhibit.  The winner will be announced at the November 1st First Tuesday Poetry meeting.
