Adult Computer and Internet Tutorials
Tutorials are available for the following computer related tasks.
Learn or brush up on your touch typing skills
- Good Typing (very basic shows you where and how to move your fingers on the keyboard plus lots of practice)
- Click "Register for free." A few boxes will appear for you to fill out. Where it says "email," you can just type in your name - you do not have to have an email address to use this website. Where it says "Password," just make up anything - your pet's name or whatever you like. When all the boxes are filled out, click "Start course." If you register you can leave your lessons and come back to the same place next time you use the site.
- Power Typing (Faster and easier if you know where to put your fingers on the keyboard)
- Click on Qwerty lessons.
- (If needed click on the start Java in the middle of the page)
- The lesson will then open and you can choose what keys you want to learn.
- (If needed on the next page again click on the Java link in the upper left corner)
- Click on Qwerty lessons.

Introduction to Open Office Programs
Basic formatting, copy and paste functions, toolbar navigation for Microsoft and Open Office programs.

Fill in your library card number to sign into the Learning Express Website
- Register an account or sign in.
- Click on Computer Skills and you are in. Learning Express will keep track of your progress.
Includes internet terminology and basic Internet navigation.
Organize your email, set up an address book, attach and open attachments.
Also, docents are available by appointment only for assistance with specific projects (not general information) on the topics listed above as well as resume assistance and job searches.
