Summer Classes and Workshops begin June 23, 2009!
ESL Class for Intermediate/Advanced
Tuesday and Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. - Edna Clyne Room
A summer class is available for Intermediate and Advanced learners. Learn grammar, conversation, reading, writing and more.
Computer Lab
Tuesday and Thursday at 12:15 p.m. - Edna Clyne Room
Improve your reading, writing, English and keyboarding skills. Hands-on support and great computer software is available. Tutor support is encouraged and welcomed.
Conversation Groups
Tuesday through Thursday at 2:00 p.m. - Edna Clyne Room
Conversation groups are for adult learners enrolled in the Adult Literacy & ESL Program. Learning is more than reading and writing; it's talking, too!
Reading the News
Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m. - Edna Clyne Room
Join us as we use local newspapers to learn more about current events in our community, nation and the world. Also learn more about reading, writing and developing critical thinking skills. Newspapers and dictionaries will be provided.

Adult Learner's Writing Workshop
- Monthy workshops are held on the third Thursday of each month.
- Monthly writing workshops begin at 12:30 p.m.
- Combines brainstorming, writing and computer literacy
- Learn strategies for writing
- Open to learners and tutors

Learner's Bookgroup
- Meets for 2 hours each month.
- Open to intermediate and advanced learners enrolled in the literacy program
- Tutors are welcomed and encouraged to accompany their learners.

The bookgroup meets at 12:30 on the 4th Thursday of each month unless noted otherwise.

Monthly Literacy Tutor Roundtable
Come and meet your fellow tutors and share your experiences! For volunteer Literacy tutors only. Roundtables meet on the second Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise noted.
